Face The Pace of the Race!

Face The Pace of the Race!

July 28, 2019 | Perry Kallis

When the Apostle Paul wanted the attention of the believers in Philippi, so as to motivate them in their Christian journey, he used a traveling illustration that was as obvious to them as talking about driving is to us. Paul talked about competing in a RACE. In the Greek world, everyone knew that running a race took single-minded focus. This short passage is a key declaration of the motivation for all believers to persevere in serving Christ,  not merely as if it were like a casual jog, but rather like an intense race. In our culture of instant gratification, this passage is a gift that gives God’s perspective on our journey of faith.
