Getting it Right on the Money – Makes Me Generous

Getting it Right on the Money – Makes Me Generous

January 13, 2019 | Perry Kallis

Who doesn’t like the word generous? It brings to mind a lavish meal, a healthy bank account, or piles of birthday gifts. But these make up only one small part of that word. The full intention of the word generous is best defined NOT by things given to me, but rather by my own attitude toward others. Our culture has short-circuited the virtuous intention behind generosity by our focus on getting. God knows that there is a hidden treasure of sheer joy awaiting those who humbly develop attitudes of generosity toward God and others. A focus on getting will always limit the joy it can produce, but a focus on giving makes joy limitless.
