The Gifts That Only Work

The Gifts That Only Work

We are so accustomed to presuming gifts are given to enrich our own lives that it seems unthinkable that anyone could receive a gift that only reveals its value when it’s given to others. But that is exactly the definition of the spiritual gifts given to believers by God in order to build up the Church to declare His truth and glory in the world. As we continue in our series called “Shaped to Serve,” we will personalize the intention of God's grace that delivers to believers these kinds of abilities. The Bible uses the words “each one” to indicate that every believer has one of these abilities. But is it possible some believers don’t know what their gift is because they have never considered using their gift for others? In other words, we will only know our “shape” when we actually begin to “serve”.
