Only God Knows Why

June 30, 2020 | Stories by Marshall McLuhan

    Hey friends,

Have you ever wondered if life is worth the trouble? After all, it can so often be filled with heartache, disappointment, and frustration. Those emotions are only intensified in a season such as the one in which we find ourselves, which is unlike any we have seen in the modern era, with billions around the world full of fear, doubt, and anxiety, with no end in sight.

Only the Lord knows when our daily lives will, if ever, resemble whatever we might have considered normal in days past. So what in the world should we do while having so little control over things?

When we are going through tough times we may wonder why God allows it.  Only God knows the reasons. God understands that we will sometimes feel like giving up. But He wants us to keep on going, refusing to quit until we have fulfilled the purpose for which He created us. That is determination!

The Lord knows that every day of our lives is worth living. What we can be sure of is that He will be there for us, no matter what circumstances we encounter. His love and comfort are resources that will see us through our trials.

And don’t forget that others will be watching us as we lean on God’s comforting arm in the face of bad news. Our example may prayerfully show them where to turn in their own lives when storms hit, and even in how to best navigate our current times with His help.

Our sorrow and pain through the challenges will not be in vain if we are able to lead even one person into the loving arms of Jesus, the Good Shepherd!

One day there will be sweet rest. But for now, God is urging us to be set in our course, following His lead, and to be determined to see it through! And we should know that He is even more determined (than we could ever imagine) to see us finish the race He’s set before us! One day at a time…

Let’s not forget the simple things that help make a difference like sharing a smile, maybe open the door for someone, or get super brave and buy a sandwich for the homeless guy you may see on any given corner. Outside of God’s grace and protection we’re all just a step away from ruin.

Let’s not even take the challenges for granted as we live and learn to grow. I’ll leave you with some inspirational thoughts and scripture and hope you make it a great day!

Colossians 1:29 – To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily.

I will go anywhere, provided it will be forward. (David Livingstone)

God does not comfort us to make us comfortable but to make us comforters. (John Henry Jowett)

    God bless,

    Marshall :)
