A Big Picture Point of View

Passage: Ephesians 2:19-22

Most construction sites look similar at the beginning with their piles of dirt, variety of equipment, and busy laborers. But the final result of what will be built bears little resemblance to the seemingly disorganized, dusty, dirty activity on the site. Similarly, God is building His purposeful kingdom-intentions in the world today with the building materials called “His transformed believers”.  But let’s be honest-- we can often look like a disorganized mess in both our personal lives and even within the work of the local church. But as the Apostle Paul comes to the conclusion of Ephesians 2, he unpacks a hopeful reminder of the big picture of what God is doing with this thing called “the church”. This passage becomes a wonderful window of hope and perspective for what God is doing, especially in these unique times when so much around us is changing.
