Honest to God About Fairness

April 25, 2020 | Perry Kallis

Passage: Psalm 71:1-73:28

“IT’S JUST NOT FAIR!” I am guessing that phrase has been declared more than usual over the last 6 weeks of the COVID “shelter in place” restrictions as homes have become offices, schoolroom, and businesses have closed and people struggle with huge changes in the patterns of life. But feeling unfairly treated is not a new experience. As unfairness goes, it is as old as creation. The first case of “perceived unfairness” is recorded in the book of Genesis when one brother (Cain) jealously killed his younger brother (Abel) because he thought God was treating them differently! But God’s Word also gives practical insight for dealing with the age-old problem wrapped up in the phrase, “Life’s NOT fair!” Join us on Sunday for a brief look at Psalm 73 as we become honest with God about fairness.
