Honest to God About Satisfaction

June 06, 2020 | Perry Kallis

Passage: Psalm 42:1-11

Have you ever been truly thirsty and been offered a bowl of ice cream instead of a cool glass of water? Delicious as it is, ice cream makes a poor substitute for quenching our thirst. We live in a world clamoring for the “ice cream of success and comfort”, but all the things and pleasures of the world cannot feed the deepest needs of our souls. In Psalm 42, King David finds himself desperately thirsty for his Creator and not just the temporary things that have been created. The lessons we learn about finding true satisfaction in God from this Psalm are incredibly timely for our current events.
