Is Prayer My Preference or My Priority?
August 02, 2020 | Perry Kallis
Passage: Daniel 9:1-19
Most of us have grown up in a culture that seems to offer endless choices, so it is easy to focus on our preferences as comfortable little non-committal choices that make my life easier. But believers must be especially careful not to apply that casual attitude to their walk with God. I should never view prayer as a mere preference when God intends that I make prayer a daily priority.
The Old Testament character of Daniel gives us a clear and practical picture of what it means to make prayer a primary priority in my walk with God. As we face the new spiritual battles of this current cultural season, we as believers must engage in prayer in more intense ways, and this passage will direct us to that goal.
