Passage: Matthew 27:1-66

According to a class on journalism, “the purpose of a newspaper headline is to personally draw a reader into the story”. In other words, a person will not read the details of an article unless the headline conveys something that interests or affects them personally. That’s why the greatest headline in all of human history is so engaging: Jesus rose from the dead - and stayed alive! This is not only interesting, but it affects all of us personally because, sooner or later, death will be part of all our lives. This Easter Sunday we will gather to explore the headline of hope--HE IS RISEN – and how that good news personally affects us all.
