Shocking Simplicity of Servanthood

Shocking Simplicity of Servanthood

February 10, 2019 | Perry Kallis

It is considered one of the top ten most difficult words to define, the word “the." There are few rules for when or when not to use it, “Why do we say, ‘I love the ballet,’ but not ‘I love the cable TV?’ Why do we say, ‘I have the flu,’ but not ‘I have the headache?’ How can something so simple and obvious be so challenging? This week in our “Shaped to Serve” series we will look at the most simple and obvious example of true, God-honoring servanthood through Jesus’ parable of the Good Samaritan. But watch out! The simplicity of its obvious application can be tricky and difficult unless we are willing to practice “Shockingly Simple” servanthood.
