The Best Gift We, At First, Didn’t Want

September 20, 2020 | Perry Kallis

Passage: Ephesians 1:3-6

Most of us like gifts. But what about gifts that cost our humility to accept and properly use them? For example, when a person accepts the gift of a book about proper financial stewardship from a friend who knows that person has made a mess of their credit, it might be very humbling, but very helpful. Some of the most powerful gifts might be the ones we. at first. didn’t want.

The salvation of our souls is like that. As the Apostle Paul speaks about God’s gift of their eternal salvation to the Ephesian believers, it is with the intent of glorifying God for His grace and motiving all believers to find joy in living as children of God.
