The Freedom of Boundaries

July 03, 2022 | Perry Kallis

Passage: Exodus 20:1-26

We live in an increasingly permissive society that demands personal freedoms almost without any restrictions. But does that really bring about freedom? The fact remains that there can be no freedom without boundaries. For example, we enjoy the freedom of safe, convenient travel, only as long as drivers stay on the boundaries called “roads” and only as long as pilots adhere to the boundaries called “flight plans”. Outside those boundaries are impending disasters. That is true morally, and spiritually as well. This July 4th weekend is a great time to be reminded that our national foundation of freedom was founded on God’s truth, illustrated by God’s blessed boundaries of the 10 Commandments, that ultimately point to His greatest gifts of grace and mercy through Jesus Christ that gives us freedom and joy in serving Him. Join us for our outdoor service in the Youth Building courtyard.
