The Importance of One Anothering

Passage: 1 Thessalonians 5:11-
Having grown up in the Midwest as a child, I built my fair share of snow forts in the winter. The most difficult part of building a snow fort is the roof. Anyone can make the sides thick and strong, but the roof tends to cave in. Several times in Paul’s letter, he challenges believers to build up one another. The Greek word implies not just building walls, but also a roof of praise and purpose. That illustration reminds us that believers of every age must work together to accomplish God’s complete purposes. We live in an age of divisiveness about everything from masks to mandates which can distractingly creep into the church. These wonderful encouraging verses remind us of the joy of intentional building into one another’s lives for the greater glory and purposes of God.
