The Point of God's Power

Passage: Ephesians 1:19-23

I’ve been to enough small town, Midwest parades to see many tractors crawl slowly down main street. The old antique tractors are interesting, but I always feel a little sorry for the huge, modern tractors whose massive wheels barely turn as they slowly idle down the street. All that power, capable of pulling large equipment to work the ground, yet here they were, casually lumbering for show. The Apostle Paul reminds believers in the city of Ephesus that we have been equipped with incredible power from God to bring Him glory as we live our lives. But is it possible we spend more time idling comfortably down main street than we do plowing into the mission of serving His eternal purposes? Paul gives some important reminders about the practical nature of using our God-given power to accomplish eternal things.
