The Priority of “One Anothering”

July 25, 2021 | Perry Kallis

Passage: Romans 15:1-7

Throughout most of history, a general, national crisis has often been a catalyst for bringing people together. What we have all experienced in the past year, however, has seemed to bring about more division than unity. The good news is that God’s good news through Christ still has the only transforming power to change that.

Over 100 times in the Bible, believers are encouraged to be part of a flock of transformed people whose mission through Christ brings eternal hope to the lost world. Believers will, however, only be as effective in compassionately declaring this good news to the world as they are in connecting and caring for one another.

As we begin looking at a familiar New Testament theme, may we increasingly heal the past months of tending to be“UN-anothered” and get back to the gift of “ONE anothering” each other so that God’s mission can advance.
