Signing off with Significance

As the Apostle John closes his first letter, he combines two incredible thoughts. First, he reminds his readers that Jesus is the only true God, and second, he encourages believers to keep away from idols. Those might seem like polar opposite thoughts with which to conclude, but in fact, they are paired for the reason of pointing believers to “live in God’s Love and walk in God’s light”, which is the theme we have used through this book series. I will personalize some of these thoughts in anticipation of our church moving into a season of transition from one lead pastor to another - to the glory of God.
