Within the space of six verses, John uses the word ‘testimony’ eight times! Apparently, he wants some truth to make a serious impact on his readers. The witness or testimony about which he is talking about has to do with Jesus as the Christ. Most of us have either been in or observed a courtroom setting. There is nothing light or casual about that experience. Likewise, there is no more serious issue regarding our souls than the testimony and truth about who Jesus is and how we respond to Him.
